The biggest news lately is that we're expecting sweet baby #3! She/he (the ultrasound tech thinks probably a SHE!!) should be arriving right at Christmas time, and we are so excited! It will be a busy time of year with my father and grandfather's birthdays, Christmas, Banks birthday, Banks' grandmother's birthday, and the baby's birthday, but what a wonderful time of year it will be. It was already my favorite and this will just add to the fun! I would be lying if I said I wasn't a LITTLE bit stressed at the prospect of being in the hospital over Christmas with two toddlers at home, but we'll make it work. :) Here is a picture of our precious new family member at 12 weeks, 6 days, as well as our Facebook announcement.
Jake turned three at the end of April, and celebrated with friends and family at the park. He loved his "birthday bash", as he likes to call it, and still talks about it every time we pass Killarney Park. He is such a big boy, and loves to sing, dance around, get into everything he shouldn't, boss his brother around, play with friends, and generally be a boy. He is very independent by nature, so we are working on a few skills to make this a bit more possible. Some things we are trying to improve on before baby gets here include dressing himself, getting the straps to his car seat on without help, cleaning up after himself a bit more often, and sassing Mommy and Daddy less often. Somehow, he picked up the phrases, "I wasn't talking to you", "Don't talk to me like that", and "I TOLD you." Three has definitely been a bit more of a challenge than two, but in a different way. He also says and does some of the sweetest things ever, so I'm trying to keep those in mind, too. :)
Here was our first attempt at putting shorts on alone. Both legs somehow made it into the same leg of his shorts. :)
A few more "Jake" pictures...my favorite is the one of his first and last day of preschool this year. He grew so much!!
Cole is about to turn two! He is such a sweet boy and his vocabulary is really expanding lately. He can finally talk in short sentences and communicate what he wants/needs. He still has difficulty with "yes", oddly enough. He says "no" to everything you ask of him, even if he means yes. So I have to prompt him with "yes". If he repeats it, then he means yes. If he says "no" again, then we have our final answer. He is a riot!
Till next year! :)
